How far in advance should I order?
Pick your delivery date at checkout โ there's no fixed booking window, so you can schedule weeks or even months ahead for special occasions. Slots fill up fast in Miami, especially weekends and holidays, so we recommend booking at least 2 days ahead. Need a cake today? Visit our Midtown same-day site for our ready-made selection.
What's the latest I can place an order for next-day delivery?
Our online cutoff for next-day pickup is midnight. For next-day delivery, slots usually sell out around noon the day before โ so we recommend booking earlier to make sure your time window is available.
Can I order for a future date or specific time?
Pick your delivery date at checkout, then choose a 1-hour slot anytime between 10am and 5pm. We'll text you a closer ETA the morning of delivery so you're not waiting around.
What if I'm not home when the delivery arrives?
Once your cake leaves our bakery, you'll get a text and email with live tracking and estimated arrival. Someone will need to receive it โ but if you'd prefer we leave it with a doorman, concierge, or front desk, just add a note at checkout. We'll never leave a cake unattended otherwise.
Do you deliver outside Miami-Dade and Broward?
We deliver throughout Miami-Dade and Broward only โ fresh cakes don't survive long-distance shipping. If you're outside our delivery area, you can grab a ready-made cake from our Midtown location (same-day pickup available there).
Can I request something that isn't in the cake builder?
The cake builder covers most personalization โ flavors, colors, message text, decorations, and add-ons. For something truly custom (a specific design we don't have, or an unusual request), tap the chat bubble in the bottom-left and we'll let you know what's possible. Most special requests need 3+ days of notice.
Can I add a message card?
Yes โ there's a notes field at checkout where you can include your card message. We'll print it on a complimentary card and include it with the cake.
How should I store my cake before serving?
Keep it refrigerated until 30โ60 minutes before serving โ buttercream tastes best at room temperature. The cake stays fresh for 3 days refrigerated, but it's at its best the day of delivery.
Do I need to assemble anything?
No โ every cake arrives fully decorated and ready to serve. We deliver in a sturdy box with a non-slip base. Just place it on your table or counter.
What if there's a problem with my cake?
Reach out the same day via the chat bubble in the bottom-left or send us a photo on Instagram @dbakers_miami. We typically respond within 30 minutes during business hours. Every situation is different, so we look at each one individually โ share what happened and a photo if you have one, and we'll work with you on the right next step.
